❥ Affirmation Jewellery: Why the Words You Wear Actually Work

Most of us are quietly talking to ourselves all day long.

Usually not very kindly.

You'd never speak to a friend the way you speak to yourself at 7am on a Monday when you've already decided the day is going badly.

Affirmation jewellery is a small attempt to interrupt that.

Not with anything grand. Just a few words, engraved somewhere you'll see them without meaning to.

What is affirmation jewellery, actually?

It's jewellery with words on it.

That's genuinely all it is.

A slim band engraved with something worth remembering. A little bar on a cord with three words that a good friend might say to you.

What makes it different from any other piece in your jewellery box is that it's doing something while you wear it.

You reach for your coffee and there it is.

You're typing an email you don't want to send and there it is.

Nobody else can read it from across the room. It isn't for them.

Why wearing it beats writing it down

Plenty of people have tried the sticky note on the bathroom mirror.

It works for about four days.

Then it becomes furniture. Your eyes slide straight past it, and eventually it falls behind the radiator and stays there until you move house.

Jewellery behaves differently, for a very simple reason:

It comes with you.

Not to the bathroom mirror — to the interview. The hospital waiting room. The first day. The difficult conversation. The Tuesday that turned out to be much harder than a Tuesday had any right to be.

The words are on your hand at the exact moment you need them, which is almost never the moment you were expecting.

And because you chose them, they land differently than something you read on the internet.

Ring or bracelet? A quick way to decide

We make our affirmations both ways, and people are usually quite sure which one they want within about ten seconds.

If you're not, here's the honest difference.

An affirmation ring sits in your line of sight constantly. You look at your hands hundreds of times a day without noticing you're doing it. The words are engraved around the outside of the band, facing outwards, so they stay readable. It stacks happily with everything else you already wear.

An affirmation bracelet is a little quieter. It's on a soft braided cord that slides to fit any wrist, so it goes on in seconds and stays put — good if you work with your hands, or if rings just aren't your thing. It also layers beautifully with a watch or your other bracelets.

Some people wear both. One affirmation on the hand, a different one on the wrist.

We're not going to pretend that's a problem.

The affirmations — and who each one is for

This is the part that matters. The words are the product; the metal is just how they get to you.

I am exactly where I am supposed to be — for anyone who keeps checking their life against a timetable nobody actually issued them. Also on a bracelet.

I am enough — three of the hardest words to say to yourself and mean. Not enough once you've fixed the thing, or finished the list, or got the job. Enough now, on an ordinary Tuesday.

I am strong — for the unglamorous kind of strength. Getting up on the mornings when nothing in you wants to, and doing the ordinary things anyway.

Everything changes & this too shall pass — the oldest comfort there is, and still the truest. For anyone in the middle of something they can't yet see the end of.

Be here now — three words to pull you out of the argument you're having in your head with someone who isn't even in the room.

I can achieve anything — for the very beginning of something, when you have to believe it before there's any evidence. Also a bracelet.

I am the master of my own destiny — for anyone who has just taken their life back into their own hands.

I manifest a world of abundance & kindness — for the people who give first and think about it afterwards. Also a bracelet.

I am happy — not a claim about today. A decision about which way you're facing.

I am grateful • I am strong • I am powerful • I am happy — four affirmations on one band, in the order that actually works. A whole morning practice, on one finger.

You've got this — the thing a good friend says just before you walk in.

You are magic — not the sparkles-and-wands kind. The kind that changes the temperature of a room when you walk into it.

Gratefulness & resilience — two words that hold each other up.

How to choose yours

Don't pick the one you think you should have.

Pick the one that made you feel slightly caught out when you read it.

That's the one.

People often go for the affirmation they find hardest to believe, which sounds backwards until you think about it. You don't need a daily reminder of the things you're already sure about.

And there's no rule that says you keep the same one forever. Ours change with what's going on. That's rather the point.

Made to be worn every single day

There's no use having a reminder you have to take off.

So we made these to live on you.

Stainless steel with real 18k gold plating or 925 sterling silver plating.

Waterproof. Shower in it, swim in it, wash up in it.

Hypoallergenic. Fine for sensitive skin.

Won't fade or tarnish. It'll look the same in a year.

The rings come in six sizes, 5 through 10, in gold or silver. The bracelets are one size — the cord adjusts — with a gold or silver bar on a black or soft pink cord.

Designed and made by us in Camden, so you won't find them anywhere else.

Why they make such good presents

Buying for someone going through something is genuinely difficult.

Flowers die. Chocolate gets eaten. Candles end up in a drawer with the other candles.

An affirmation is different, because choosing one for somebody means paying attention to them.

You're not saying "here is a bracelet".

You're saying "I know what this year has been like, and I think you're stronger than you're giving yourself credit for."

New job. New baby. A break-up. A birthday that's landed harder than usual. Someone leaving home. Someone starting again.

Every piece comes packed with care in a gift bag, ready to give.

A small thing, on purpose

We're not going to tell you a ring will change your life.

It won't.

But a few good words, in front of you on a day you'd forgotten them — that's worth something.

Enough people have told us they touch the engraving before walking into a room that we've stopped thinking of it as a small thing.

Choose your words. Wear them somewhere you'll see them.

Then get on with your day.
